This coming Thursday, June 6th, Jackson County will welcome its first Senior High School Basketball All-Star Game, at Spring Arbor University. This event is hosted by Lumen Christi boys basketball head coach, Josh Tropea. Coach Tropea was selected 517 Hoops All Region Coach of the Year in 2024 after coaching his team to a 22-5 record this past season, along with a District and Regional Title. Doors open at 7pm, Tipoff at 7:30pm. Admission is $5.

Tropea’s inspiration for this All-Star game comes from the deep passion Jackson County has for the game. Seniors were selected by a group of basketball minds throughout Jackson County, including head varsity coaches Codi Cole (Columbia Central Girls), April Salts (Grass Lake Girls), Marshawn Norris (Grass Lake Boys), Derek Seidl (Napoleon Boys), Milton Barnes (Jackson High Boys), with additional insight from Spring Arbor University Staff. 

Due to availability, the girls All Star selection will not have a game this Thursday, instead they will be honored during half time of the boys game. The boys team will be made up of two 8-man squads, each consisting of seniors representing various schools in Jackson County.
